Professor Russ Roberts and his team at EconStories.tv (the creators of the Hayek-Keynes rap amongst others) have a new educational video out on economics for the holiday season, this time tackling the myth our politicians peddle that we need to borrow more to spend more to "stimulate" the economy.
The good people at the Competative Enterprise Institute have produced a short 6 minutes video of Leonard Read's famous 1958 essay "I, Pencil" - an essay that I personally consider one of the strongest and most powerful defences of capitalism and free enterprise, and explanation of why command and control government-run socialist economies can never work, out there. Well worth watching:
This is why last month, our parent group, the Australian Taxpayers' Alliance, started MyChoice Australia as Australia's first dedicated activist group committed to fighting the nanny state, and restoring our long-lost liberties.
I would encourage everyone here to visit the MyChoice website, sign up, and take part in this campaign.
The official MyChoice launch was held in Melbourne last month, with Tim Wilson from the IPA, Dr. Michael Keane from Monash University, and Cassandra Wilkinson from The Australian. Please watch the video below - it's 40 minutes, but well worth the time to watch - promise!
