SYDNEY'S busiest CBD streets are to be ripped up for bike paths within the next six years, a master plan reveals.
Maps to go before Sydney City Council today reveal the full extent of Lord Mayor Clover Moore's plan to roll out bike paths across the CBD.
Almost every major street from Central Station to Circular Quay will be sliced up for cycleways similar to the ones that have caused traffic chaos along Kent and College Sts.
The plan, a "guiding document to inform future capital works planning and project implementation" shows bike lanes will be built along Park, Liverpool, Sussex, Hay, Castlereagh and King Sts.
Existing bike paths on Kent St will run all the way to Walsh Bay, while College St's bike path will continue up Macquarie St all the way to the Opera House.
Madness. Utter, utter madness.
